Draft — pending legal review. This document has not yet been reviewed by counsel. Items markedto be provided require business information that has not been finalized.
This policy explains how 8-Bit Cache Studios LLC (“we”, “us”) handles information when you visit the Declared Missing website. It describes what the website actually does today. It does not cover the Declared Missing game, which will have its own privacy terms before release.
The short version
This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising pixels, session recording, social media embeds or any other tracking. It does not ask you to create an account. Fonts and images are served from this website itself, not from third-party services.
The mailing-list form shown on this site is not yet active and does not collect or store anything.
Information collected automatically
Like any website, our hosting provider receives technical information when your browser requests a page: your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the time of the request. This is used only to deliver the website, keep it secure and diagnose problems. We do not use it to identify you or build a profile of you.
The website is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS Amplify). AWS processes these request logs on our behalf as a service provider. Log retention follows the hosting provider’s configuration: retention period to be provided.
Cookies and local storage
This website sets no cookies and does not use browser storage to track you. Because there is no non-essential tracking, no cookie consent banner is shown. If that changes, we will update this policy and provide real controls before any non-essential cookies are used.
Mailing list
The mailing list is not yet open. When it opens, this section will be updated to describe exactly what is collected, which email service provider processes it, and how to unsubscribe — before any address is collected.
Links to other sites
This website may link to third-party sites, such as a future Steam store page or community channels. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.
Children
Declared Missing is a horror game intended for mature audiences and this website is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation and California privacy law — you may have the right to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, contact us using the details below. jurisdiction-specific review required
Changes
We will update this policy when the website changes how it handles information — for example, when the mailing list opens or a Steam page is linked. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
