Declared Missing

The Host

He is the one who calls it a Broadcast

An antagonist who never needs to be in the room to be in the room.

The antagonist is known only as The Host. He stages Broadcasts and speaks through radios, televisions, intercoms, telephones, security monitors and emergency speakers.

His title means the presenter of a broadcast, the owner welcoming guests, and a body carrying another presence. All three are meant.

Without hope, it isn't a hunt. It's only slaughter.
Names are for guests. I am your Host.

Belief

He thinks he is doing someone else's work

The Host is occult in the oldest sense: he believes he is doing someone else's work, and he is devout about it. His influence leaves symbols, ritual spaces and sacrificial seals through every location.

Whether the voice he follows is real, a deception, or his own delusion is not something the game answers for you.

Hope, rescue, temptation, betrayal and the possibility of escape are all essential to the ritual. He wants people making choices under pressure. He does not want them dying immediately.

Names

Nobody agrees what to call him

Hunters call him
Host, or Our Host
Prey call him
The Voice
Investigators file him as
Unknown Organizer H-01

Presence

How he shows up

Formal black clothing and a porcelain mask with concentric speaker openings where the mouth should be. A broken transmission circle is his sigil.

He rarely appears in person. Distorted monitors, silhouettes, reflections, observation glass and transmitted speech do the work instead. The story never stops a match to explain itself.

Next location

The motel

The prison is the first location, not the only one. A motel is the next planned setting: rooms, the front office, laundry, maintenance routes, parking and grounds.

Vacancy signs, room assignments, wake-up calls, and guests who never checked out. The hospitality theme is the joke he keeps making.
